The Veil of Becoming

Have You Ever Wondered About Your Path?

Have you ever wondered if you were always meant to find a certain path, even if you didn’t see it clearly at the time? Or if life’s twists and turns were guiding you toward something greater? These are the questions I’ve been sitting with as I reflect on my own journey and who I’ve become.

Lessons from the Race

Looking back, there were always hints—moments that lingered…moments that carried guidance. Like the first cross-country race of my sophomore year in high school. Going into that race, I expected to be at the tail end of the pack, unnoticed. I can still hear the one word that propelled me forward that day: “Go!” That day I learned two important lessons: 1) there will come a time when we must all move beyond the old pace and story of our lives, and 2) to trust that sometimes Spirit will place us in what seems like a defeated position just to bring us to the front.

A Magical Spring Getaway

A spring getaway to St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2017 was a turning point. I remember the stillness of my inner world during that trip. The anxious chatter that usually filled my mind and heart was absent. Everything about that weekend felt magical. Riding bikes, feeling the wind kiss my face as my roommate and I raced each other down Sunset Way, was reminiscent of the innocent, childlike freedom I once had. Each night, we ate ice cream on the beach, staring up at the stars—it felt like a dream. I was aware, like Cinderella at the ball, that this moment wouldn’t last. But I knew that trip was meant to be a seed that would one day bloom—a life of flow and deep connection with myself and the world.

The Psychic’s Insight

And that day in Savannah, Georgia, three months before graduating from Chiropractic school, when I ventured into the peculiar shop of a psychic. I remember the roughness of her hands as she caressed my palms and her fixed gaze peering into the abyss of my world. She asked, “What do you want? What do you want from life, from yourself?” I stumbled, stuttered—and my efforts fell short. She interjected, “Well, I know it’s not money.”

Reflections at Rock Creek Park

Recently, at Rock Creek Park, I was lying comfortably on a rock. The creek was offering me its familiar peace. Just past the crown of the trees, there was an opening that allowed me to see the sky. In that moment, I could see what the psychic had seen that day. I remembered the last thing she said before I closed her squeaky door: “You are creating a beautiful life.” As I traced the clouds, I traced my life, connecting the dots in a way that only this moment could allow. I see now what the process of becoming was holding in disguise.

Embrace Your Journey & Your Becoming

I am my life’s work. I am my job…my purpose. This practice—none of this is what I do; it’s who I am.

As you move through your own journey, remember that every moment is part of the beautiful life you are creating and the person you are becoming. I invite you to reflect on your path and embrace the unique purpose that drives you. If you feel called, let’s explore more together.
